Clarinda, IA) After nearly a year-and-a-half of research and planning, Boulders Inn & Suites has broken ground on another location. The Southwest Iowa town of Clarinda will be home to the Iowa-based hotel chain's newest property. Clarinda Mayor Gordon Kokenge and the city planning group are certain that the new hotel will benefit the city in a positive way.
"It took some time to get things going," Kokenge said. "A lot of research and discussion went into our decision. We think it's going to be a wonderful project for the community."
The new hotel will be a benefit to Clarinda, especially during large tourism events such as the annual Glenn Miller Festival. Instead of having to find accommodations in the neighboring towns of Red Oak, Shenandoah, or Maryville, MO, festival bands, fans, and out-of-town attendees will have additional options for local lodging.
"We did our homework," Boulders Inn & Suites CEO Tim Stuart told local news. "We requested a market analysis and the results showed that Clarinda would be a good fit for us." Asked what makes Clarinda a good fit, Stuart added, "right now, we're looking at smaller rural communities—of around ten-thousand or less—that are underserved with quality lodging, and we've found that niche in Iowa."
Weather permitting, the 40-room two-story Boulders Inn & Suites Clarinda is targeted to open in May of 2018. This will be Boulders' 14th location in Iowa.
Boulders Inn & Suites is headquartered in Denison, Iowa, and currently operates 13 locations across Iowa and Missouri. To learn more about Boulders Inn & Suites, visit www.BouldersInnAndSuites.com or follow the company on Facebook or Twitter.
