The Mozingo Outdoor Education Recreation Area (MOERA) is located on 320 acres next to Mozingo Lake. MOERA provides customized challenge courses that can improve leadership skills and empowerment activities. Mozingo Lake Recreation Park Golf Course is located adjacent to Mozingo Lake.
The Mozingo Lake Golf Course is an award-winning course that was declared “The Best New Public Golf Course in America” by Golf Digest magazine in 1996. The Golf Course is USGA certified and offers an onsite driving range and practice green. The 18 hole course has been aptly nicknamed the Sechrest 18 after the well-known course designer, Donald Sechrest. The Watson 9, a nine-hole junior/executive course was recently added and is expected to provide high level, junior golf instruction.
The Maryville Community Center offers meeting rooms, three basketball courts, Aerobic & Strength Equipment as well as a Child Watch area. Group Fitness Classes, Boot Camps, and Personal Training is available. A suspended walk/jog track circles the courts for your convenience.
The Maryville Aquatic Center features two 125-foot slides, Diving boards, swimming lessons, pool parties, 8 lap lanes, a Jacuzzi bench as well as a concession area and locker rooms. The Aquatic Center is open seasonally.
Northwest Missouri State University is located in Maryville, founded in 1905 the University offers both undergraduate and graduate programs. Northwest has approximately 7,000 students with a student to teacher ratio of 20 to 1.
