Activities range from a leisurely walk on the peaceful walking trails near beautiful Yellow Smoke Park to a night of cheering fans and screeching tires at the Crawford County Speedway. Hungry? Try one of the many fine restaurants Denison has to offer. Traditional American menu's are available or you can indulge in a Chinese Buffet or try one of the Mexican Restaurants for authentic Enchiladas and a chilled Margarita. If fast food is what you are looking for order a pizza and have it delivered or drive thru and pick up a burger. If you would like to stay close to the Boulders Inn you can visit the Majestic Hills Bar & Grille for a delicious menu of Steaks, Chicken, Sandwiches, Appetizers and Daily Specials.

Donna Reed Theatre and Museum

Denison is the birthplace of Donna Reed, star of the 50's television classic "The Donna Reed Show" and classic films such as "It's a Wonderful Life" and "From Here to Eternity". Donna Reed grew up in Denison and the Donna Reed Center for the Performing Arts sits on the historic corner of Broadway and Main in Denison, Iowa. At a ribbon cutting on June 25, 2004, the first exhibits of the museum were revealed to the public, including many of Donna's awards and honors, as well as personal letters from Donna's pen pal of 48 years, Violet Lindsay. The Historic McHenry House

The McHenry House was built in 1885. It is owned and maintained as a museum by the Crawford County Historical Society Crawford County Memorabilia, including the Academy Award won by Donna Reed for her performance in "From Here to Eternity are on display. It is located at 1428 First Ave. N. in Denison IA. Tours are available to the public on Sunday and Thursday afternoons from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., or by appointment, Memorial Day to Labor Day.

The Little Red Schoolhouse

The schoolhouse opened in 1882 and closed on May 29, 1953. The Little Red Schoolhouse was moved to the Jim and Ramona Laubscher ranch in 1975. The building has been restored and furnished with pieces dating back to the early 1900's.

Neal Moeller Environmental Education Center

The Neal Moeller Nature Center houses exhibits and various displays, all promoting environmental education. A full-time Naturalist devises programs to educate area youth and the general public on how to respect and conserve the environment in which they live.
